The Bad Ragaz Ring Method
The Bad Ragaz Ring Method, which was discovered around 1238 A.D., began in the thermal water of a river that ran through Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. People found that simply submerging their bodies in the warm swift water provided them some relief for their chronic pain.
Several hundred years later, therapist began to apply passive movements to the patients while they were lying on their backs with the assistance of buoyant equipment in warm water. This method releases tension and increases spasticity of muscle fibers. Passive movement can also increase range of motion in the joints and spine.
New Bad Ragaz techniques and approaches are continuously being added to the therapeutic methodology. At Lakeway Aquatic Therapy & Wellness Center we strive to offer the best available techniques and equipment to all our patients. We feel that this form of therapeutic rehabilitation is beneficial to our patients.
