MEDICAL REHAB
What is Medical Rehabilitation?
If you consult a physical therapist about your specific condition, her or she will
- Review your medical history
- Determine your general physical condition (using specific tests)
After your physical therapist has determined her assessment, he or she will design a program of exercises and activities just for you, with and emphasis on strength, flexibility and proper body gait alignment. All exercises would be planned for maximum safety and security. Your physical therapist may also perform specific interventions to increase range of motion and musculoskeletal flexibility. These may include electrical stimulation, massage, heat, cold and ultrasound.

Combining Aquatic & Land-Based Therapies to Maximize Rehabilitation Years of treating patients with all types of injuries and diseases have proven that the healing process works best when the benefits of water therapy are combined with land therapy, progressing the patient to maximum health in the shortest amount of time. The warm water therapy pool allows early intervention the patient can begin therapy very soon after an accident or surgery. This makes rehabilitation faster and more effective. The water environment provides support and warmth, while at the same time creating resistance to bodily movement in all directions. Progress in aquatic therapy builds to land therapy protocols.
